After he turned around, Lu Chen realized there was another silhouette quietly moving into him from the back.

Furthermore, when Lu Chen saw it, it was already three-meters away from him, it was almost running into him already.

Immediately, Lu Chen understood the mist wasn’t as simple as he initially thought it was.

Even when he found out the Evil’s traits and pattern, it still wasn’t easy to deal with. After all, humans could only see things in one direction at a time. The Evil would still be able to get to you as long as there was someplace that wasn’t being looked at.

The Evils sure are not easy to deal with.

Every man has their own approach toward this kind of situation. The normies would only run for their lives, the musclemen fight their way out with brute force, and the speedsters outrun the silhouette before they were caught by it.

Lu Chen whose forte was his unbeatable body has it done by tanking the Evil’s attack.

But frankly speaking, Lu Chen has no other choice either as the time was too short for him to come up with a better plan. On the other hand, Intuition was telling him that his situation was not as perilous as one would think.

Although a strong body allows me to tank all of its attacks, it’s still irritating that I can’t return the favor back at it. I really hope I can get a nice skill that can harm the Evils when I get up to a Lvl 5 Barbarian Blood Warrior.

While he was looking at the front and thinking in his head, he felt a cold coming from his back.

Without even thinking much, Lu Chen immediately knew the other silhouette was coming toward him from the back.

But this time, Lu Chen didn’t turn back to stop it.

Even when he felt the cold air intensifying on his back, Lu Chen didn’t turn his head at all. Instead, he gathered the Vigor in his body and agitated them to flow vigorously in his body.

No matter how terrifyingly strong your powers are, you have to get through my Vigor before killing me.

Come, come at me! Show me how are you going to kill me!

As he was thinking, a cold palm was placed on his back.

It was cold as ice. The moment it touched Lu Chen’s back, his body numbed and he felt a cold air seeping through his skin trying to get into his body.

But in the next second, a scorching heat rose in his body and eradicated the cold air before it could get inside Lu Chen’s body.

At the same time, Lu Chen also heard a hissing noise coming from the point of contact on his back. Clearly, Lu Chen’s Vigor has scorched the palm on his back.

As soon as it happened, the silhouette’s immediate reaction was to back away from him but how could Lu Chen let it go so easily?

Lu Chen rammed his body to the back while staring down at the silhouette in front of him.

It felt like he has fallen into a block of frosting ice on his back. He felt a sharp, cold chill on his back and he shivered in cold.

But it only lasted for a moment as the Vigor in him quickly eradicated the cold from him.

Then, a loud scream of pain shrieked in Lu Chen’s ears followed by the system’s emotionless voice.

A cruel smile radiated across Lu Chen’s face when he received the system message.

“I sure am right. Your peculiar powers are effective in slaughtering the normies, but that’s far than enough to kill me! I didn’t have all those points invested in my body for nothing!”

As he laughed, Lu Chen didn’t let his guard down.

The Evil is actually the mist itself. It can’t be just the broken soul. The broken soul is most likely just a puppet controlled by the mist or perhaps, it’s actually just a manifestation of the mist itself.

Judging from the size of the mist, Lu Chen couldn’t bring himself to believe that it was just an Ungraded Broken Soul Evil.

Soon, Lu Chen’s surmise was proven to be the truth.

After he killed the broken soul behind him, Lu Chen noticed the silhouette in front of him was still there dangling on the same spot.

Lu Chen couldn’t help but lamented,

Once again, this world has proven itself to be extremely dangerous. First, the village is surrounded by the human-head fireballs, and further into the dark, there’s the peculiar mist that has countless monsters concealed inside of it.

But this is exactly the kind of world that can improve my prowess!

Well then, come one, Evil. Let’s see who dies first.

Lu Chen thought. He stared at the silhouette in front of him and soon just as he has expected, there was another silhouette quietly approaching him from the back.

At the very instant it touched Lu Chen, he rammed heftily to the back into the silhouette’s arms.

Once again, his body was numbed by the cold and the system message rang in his ears again.

Lu Chen laughed ruthlessly and said while shivering in cold, “Come, show me how many ghosts you have in this mist!”

Lu Chen has made up his mind. He wouldn’t leave and would stay to take out all the souls the mist has.

At the same time, Lu Chen was also looking for the mist’s weaknesses.

However, his efforts weren’t fruitful.

He tried staring at one silhouette and walk toward it nonstop. But it would hover in front of him in the exact same distance no matter what he does. Eventually, he stopped and gave up.

Lu Chen also didn’t dare to move around too much as he was afraid he would accidentally enter the territories of the other Evils.

On the other hand, Lu Chen also felt the benefits of Intuition.

Even though the mist has obstructed his vision, as long as he closed his eyes, he could still sense the dangers around him as well as a sense of safety at one of the directions not far away from him.

Lu Chen knew it was the position of the totem pillar.

Which was also because of his Intuition that Lu Chen was able to move in the mist without fear of losing his directions.

I will not lose my way as long as I have the Intuition with me. Once my body can’t tank it anymore, I will make a move back to the village. Hah, I don’t believe you’d dare follow me back into the village.

Other than trying to walk toward the silhouette, Lu Chen also tried many other ways to see if he could harm the Evil.

For example, he tried hurling rocks stained with his blood at it.

However, the rocks hurled at the silhouette would just fly past its body as if it was just an illusion.

Is it because it hasn’t materialized yet or is it because it’s in another dimension and will only come out when it’s near me?

Lu Chen has many surmises on the nature of the silhouette.

However, due to his lack of knowledge in the world, Lu Chen’s surmises were unanswerable.

While he was searching for the Evil’s weaknesses, he was also tanking the mist’s attack at the same time.

After all, he only has a pair of eyes. No matter which direction he looks at, there would be silhouettes that would be able to get to him from the back. They all tried to enter his body and gives him a cold every time they tried.

However, Lu Chen has 46 points in his Constitution and his Vigor was strong and vibrant, giving him enough resistance against the Evils and the cold.

No matter how many hands have touched his back, the silhouettes were the first to die while Lu Chen only consumed a small portion of his Vigor.

Then, the depleted amount of Vigor would be regenerated back within seconds. After all, Lu Chen just downed a whole jar of herbal soup before coming out.

Lu Chen’s body was absorbing the efficacy of the herbal soup and it regenerates his consumption.

Ten minutes have slowly gone by just like that with Lu Chen tanking through ten ambushes from the back. However, he was not wounded at all as the Mist Broken Souls couldn’t even get into his body.

Moreso, Lu Chen earned 500 Mastery Points from killing them.

Lu Chen also tried a lot of other ways but none brought him close to the silhouette in front of him nor helped to clear the mist around him. Lu Chen couldn’t help but feel a headache.

Just when Lu Chen was turning the cogs in his head trying to find a solution, the mist that surrounds him started clearing slowly. The sudden change flummoxed Lu Chen on the ground.

But right after, he screamed out loud, “Oi, don’t you run!”

“Come out! Come fight me!”

“Aren’t you an Evil? Are you not ashamed to run away from a mere human?”

Although he didn’t find a solution to defeat the mist, it wasn’t able to kill him either. Instead, it actually brought Lu Chen more Mastery Points to earn, which explains why Lu Chen didn’t want to let it go.

Hence, he shouted back at the mist and started chasing after it for running away.

One must say, it was an odd scene to behold.

Usually, it was the humans that would turn and run away from the Evils and the Evils would do their best to stop the humans from running.

But today, the tables have turned. The human was the one shouting and taunting the Evil to stop running and the Evil was the one making a run for its life.

It was… strange.
